Jennifer's Jacket

Open toe zig-zag food & free motion foot (walking foot optional). Basic Sewing Supplies.

  1. Sweatshirt- make sure it's AT LEAST one size larger than you wear…two sizes would be better.   Remember: we can make it smaller & it WILL shrink. Consider the colors of your fabrics.
  2. Fabric-
    1. For trim and cuffs-buy 1/2 yard minimum. If you're doing bias (like mine) buy 1 yard.
    2. For patches-bring 6-8 fat quarters or scraps to equal about 2 yards.
    3. If you want to you may pre-cut your fabrics.   DO NOT CUT TINY PIECES. Cut your pieces at least about 5” or so. Read your pattern for cutting hints.
  3. Thread- Please bring 3-4 pre-wound bobbins and top thread for your “appliqué” as well as your quilting. I used Sulky Blendables for all my stitching on top and white (to match the sweatshirt) in my bobbins.
  4. Button- One large for closure. Any embellishments you desire—old lace, rick-rack, etc…
