Workshops
Cindy
and Patti teach a variety of workshops. Base price for a 6
hr. workshop is $275.00 plus mileage. Overnight accommodations
are required when necessary. Some workshops may require the
purchase of a template, pattern or a special tool. You may
purchase these from us or from your local shop. (
Please be aware, we have tried to be as accurate as possible with
the prices of various tools, but manufacturer's prices are subject
to change.)
Quilts
in the right and left margins are possible workshops also.
Please inquire.
Workshop/Demo
#1 - 25 Years of Mistakes - There is a Better, Faster, Easier Way.
This
workshop is a two for one. Often when we travel to give a
"show and tell" we are asked to do a workshop. Cindy
and Patti team teach this workshop that is mostly demonstration,
so you get two teachers for the price of one. We can customize
this workshop to suit your time allotment and your group.
We've seen every quilting problem that exists in 25 years of running
a shop, however, we found ourselves teaching certain techniques
over and over. This workshop demonstrates solutions to common
problems. Some of the topics covered are color and fabric
choices, fast, yet accurate cutting, precision sewing and speed
piecing, pressing, perfect, straight mitered borders, a bit of machine
quilting, and perfect bias binding. (Cindy and Patti)
Workshop/Demo
#2 - Color and Fabric Choices
This is a
notebook class which prepares the participants to choose appropriate
fabrics for their quilting projects. This class begins with the
color wheel, basics of color theory (value, contrast, temperature,
intensity, saturation, etc.) then moves on to a discussion of fabrics
and how to make them work for you. Students are encouraged to bring
current or future projects to the class for discussions on design
and possible fabric choices. (Cindy)

| Radiant
Suns
A
design that lends itself to batiks. This asymmetrical quilt
block is deceptively easy. There are plexiglass templates
that make cutting with a rotary cutter quick and accurate.
All the blocks are constructed from the same 5 template
shapes. This quilt is not Fat Quarter friendly. We will
supply class participants with a detailed list of the fabric
requirements prior to class.
This
workshop requires the purchase of a template set, ($34.00),
Radiant Suns by Doodle Press. Fabric kits are available.
Intermediate level. (Cindy) |

| Crazy
Curves
This
is a great class for those who want to learn to piece curves---painlessly.
This 2 part block is 7", which makes it a good choice
for new quilters with good basic sewing skills. The pieces
are cut using plexiglass templates which aid accuracy in
cutting. Batiks are a good choice for those who want to
make something with a little more contemporary look or cottons
prints give a more traditional look.
This
workshop requires the purchase of a template, ($14.95),
7" Crazy Curves by Elisa'a Backporch. This design is
Fat Quarter friendly and can be adjusted to any size quilt.
Fat Quarter packs available. Confident beginner to
intermediate level. (Cindy) |

prints, large scale prints, batiks and traditional prints
work well.
